The Brief

A Traditional Stove for a Historic Home

Mrs Williamson had recently moved into a character-filled period property in Chesterfield. She was looking for a dependable and efficient secondary heat source that would complement the original style of her living room. After visiting our Mansfield showroom, she found the perfect fit: the Esse 105 wood burner stove.

The Esse 105 offers the best of both worlds, traditional charm with modern efficiency. Its cast iron body, classic detailing and large viewing window made it the ideal choice for her fireplace renovation.

The project was led by our HETAS-registered installer, Olly, and included:

  • High standard installation of a riven slate hearth and slips. Adding an ecofriendly option with a natural, textured finish
  • A fireboard chamber, providing a clean and safe setting for the stove
  • Period-style mantel fireplace installation. Sympathetic to the property’s age and architecture

The Stove Installation In Derbyshire

During installation, our team noticed the chimney stack showed signs of water ingress. To ensure a safe and compliant installation. We carried out repointing to part of the chimney. A proactive step that protected both the property and the new appliance.
