The Brief - Space of Your Dreams
Mr and Mrs Ball stopped into the Ponsford Sheffield showroom while searching for accessories to sit next to their media wall, and offered to share photos of the finished room along with their experience working with our team.
The couple first came to us after being impressed by a media wall in a friend's home. A quick look online led them to our reviews, and they made a trip to the showroom to go through some options for themselves.
The challenge was bringing together a large 6m x 7m space that had previously been used as a playroom for the children.
We love our room now. Before, it was a space where kids would play - there was a television, but we didn't go in very often. Now the kids have gotten older, and we use that space every day. It feels more inviting.
They met with our co-owner George, who asked questions about the space and their lifestyle before suggesting a direction. After a bit of discussion, the design that emerged was end-to-end across the full wall, making the room feel more cohesive.
The plan included:
- A stylish end-to-end design matched to their décor
- Room for a 77" television that would be viewable throughout the room
- A 2.4-metre electric fire to balance out the wall and add warmth
- Dropdown lights and a suspended ceiling feature to complement the fireplace
Everyone was professional and did as they said they would. The installers were fantastic - they just knew what they were doing and got on with it.
More Affordable Than Expected
The work took a week and a half. Mr and Mrs Ball recall that our team were tidy and not intrusive, and that a small electrical issue that came up during construction was dealt with immediately.
All in all, they say the experience was simple and stress-free - they had expected more issues and delays that never came up. The whole thing also turned out being more affordable than they had expected.
Our media wall is truly bespoke. We found out during our site survey that our room isn't exactly square. There were some issues to overcome to make everything symmetrical, but it was no problem.
